Norwich 2/3 classes have been learning this month about instruments of the orchestra. There are so many scientific and musical connections about how instruments are made and created. Each instrument has specific traits that make it belong to a special group or 'family' based on how you play it and create sound. Take a moment to review the prezi (right) and the different instruments and members of an orchestra experience. I strongly encourage you to visit some kind of concert in the coming months and create an opportunity to identify, discuss, and reflect on your experience together! Here are some great questions for discussion: *Which instrument was your favorite, and WHY? *Is there an instrument you don't especially enjoy the sound of, and WHY? *Tell me something that surprised you about the orchestra? *Do we know anyone who plays in the orchestra or sings in a choir? *Can we explore internet resources to find out more about your favorite instrument? Please enjoy these youtube videos that summarize what we have learned. | Full Orchestra Song:Prezi Lesson below: |
