We love to dance inside, but it is even better outside as a singing team! Today was the perfect spring day to enjoy some dance in the grass!!
Thank YOU to the Norwich Village!Teachers, parents, students, and principals at Norwich ALL participated in important ways this week with our guest Dr. Craig Woodson. Whether helping to build instruments, play during an assembly, or host a luncheon, everyone pitched in to make it happen! And that is what is so great about our fabulous school. And as Dr. Woodson said today, it is ALL for the benefit of the children we teach. Please enjoy some final photos from the final assemblies where each student brought and played their custom made instrument. Artist in Residence inspires authentic music makingGUEST ARTIST: DR. CRAIG WOODSON Before we share of the wonderful things happening here this week with our musical guest, a HUGE thank you is owed to our PTO and art department for the collaboration to host and create this event. It has been an inspiring time to connect music with other concepts! The week included an opening assembly, instrument building workshop, and closing assembly for all classes at Norwich. During the first assembly, students discovered how music comes from every culture around the world. Dr. Woodson's specialty is creating authentic sound while using simple and everyday items and he enforced how animals, food technology, and music all CONNECT to produce sound. During the workshops, a variety of instruments will be built in groups of 50 students. Our final assembly will allow all of our built instruments to perform in a closing concert with the students from each wing. During the week, students will truly experience how science, sound, culture and artistry come together to create an ensemble of instruments in our "WORLD ORCHESTRA". Stay tuned for more photos. |
